A Cisco Network Assignment
A few semesters ago I worked on an interesting final project in my class “Network Fundamentals”. In this project I was tasked with creating a cisco network that supports 256 hosts over 7 different subnets. Each of those hosts had to have their own IP Phone and have various restrictions set up with the routers ACL (firewall settings).
Overall I found this to be quite a great experience trying to piece it all together. The task was set in a software lab environment called Cisco Packet Tracer. The software itself was rather limiting and not necessarily able to handle this much traffic in its emulated environment. After a few weeks, I was finally able to get everything communicating accordingly and finish up the project with the grade of an A- ( I couldn’t get one ACL to work just right).
